Early Years

At Dennington Primary School we recognise the importance of giving our children the best possible start to their education by planning and implementing interesting, appealing and varied teaching and learning opportunities that support them in reaching their full potential. We understand that children enter our Reception class with varied life experiences; we aim to plan teaching and learning opportunities accordingly to enhance, support and continue to develop these.

We recognise the crucial role that Early Years’ education has to play in providing firm foundations upon which the rest of a child’s education is successfully based.  We recognise the importance of building strong relationships with parents and carers of the children. Working together with parents/carers and sharing knowledge of the children presents us with a holistic all-round view of each individual child, their interests, learning style and so on.

We aim to provide children with a well-structured, safe, active learning environment both indoors and outdoors. We have high aspirations for EVERY child who comes into our Early Years setting, wanting each one to be enabled to develop the skills, attitudes and understanding that will form the basis of lifelong learning, and encourage them to become useful, active members of a diverse and constantly changing society.
