About the results

Pupils are ‘meeting the expected standard’ if they achieve a ‘scaled score’ of 100 or more in their reading and maths tests, and their teacher assesses them as ‘working at the expected standard’ or better in writing.  Pupils are ‘achieving at a higher standard’ if they achieve a ‘scaled score’ of 110 or more in their reading and maths tests, and their teacher assesses them as ‘working at a greater depth within the expected standard’ in writing.

Key Stage 2 2022 measures

The government is not formally publishing KS2 school level data for the 2021 to 2022 academic year because they recognise that Covid impacted on all schools differently. However, at Dennington we are proud of what we achieved despite the challenges and our key results are displayed below.

KS2 SATs

  • Reading: 100% at Expected, 59% at Depth with an average SS of 110.08
  • Writing: 84.6% at Expected, 23% at Depth (externally moderated)
  • Maths: 92% at Expected, 38% at Depth with an average SS of 106.3

Key Stage 2 2019 measures

During the academic year 2018-2019 (the last formal SATs year prior to Covid), the combined Key Stage 2 score of 83.3% was well above the national average. This placed Dennington 13th out of the 307 schools in Suffolk. Results in Reading were particularly strong (in top 10% of schools in Suffolk based on average score). Details of our results are available on the Department for Education's performance tables website.
